Meshmixer
Mesh mixer is a program in which you are able to clean up 3D scans or models before you upload them into more dynamic programs or take them to be printed. It allows you to sculpt and delete certain areas while filling in any holes which would prevent 3D printing. You can also add bases and various necessary parts your scan or model may be missing. It is truly an all-in-one program!
After bringing my model in from Autodesk Recap, there was not much that needed to be corrected. I did however have to delete some areas which had been previously stitched together in strange configurations. After deleting those areas, I added a base to create a more visually aesthetic 3D print. To attach the base I used the boolean-union to conjoin the base with the original model. Before exporting, I created a solid object and filled in any holes. I then exported as an ASCII .stl file. The .stl file will allow my model to be 3D printed!
